Prayer for our nation's leaders, lawmakers, and magistrates

Here is an interesting thing I have done as of late. Christian Covenanter is my political blog, and as such, I am mindful that there is much to be wanted in the United States of America in terms of good government. I don't have all the answers. I don't propose a theocracy as some might presume, only recognition that there is a divine and moral basis for the law.

I am praying for the magistrates in this country, the President of the United States, the leaders in Congress, Democratic and Republican alike. For whatever shortcomings that our leaders have ethically, morally and spiritually, they are only human, and need prayer, spiritual counsel, and the Gospel message.

I find much to be wanted in the political system, and lament what seems to be happening to our republic. I geniunely hope for a spiritual revival. Likewise, I welcome a renaissance of federalism whereby power and authority are devolved back upon the states, and the gargantuan federal government gets cut down a notch.
